Welcome to our Book Club!

We are looking forward to reading with you and hearing your thoughts on what we have read.

Meet Olie, our Book Club Mascot, an extremely cute owl indeed! Olie will be reading and joining us for our Book Club Meetings, (she is very well-behaved), and she has offered to take notes.

A bit of background on Olie, Olie is believed to carry wisdom and has the ability to see what is hidden. Olie calls or hoots often signify messages from the spiritual realm. Their vocalizations
are seen as calls for guidance or warnings of change. Olie, along with her fellow Owls are associated with wisdom and higher knowledge.

We will begin with reading from a list of women authored books from Persephone Books.

Persephone Books reprints neglected fiction and non-fiction, mostly by women writers and
mostly dating from the mid-twentieth century. All 152 titles are intelligent, thought-provoking
and beautifully written.

As well as novels, Persephone Books publish short stories, diaries, memoirs, poetry. Gardening
books and cookery books; each title has an elegant grey jacket and patterned endpaper, along
with a matching bookmark.
